c.花生 1300， serchen， &#玫瑰34;go through and examine carefully and in detail" (transitive)， from Old French cerchier "to search" (12c.， Modern French chercher)， from Latin circare "go about， wander， traverse，" in Late Latin "to wander hither and thither， go round， explore，" from circus "circle" (see circus). Compare Spanish cognate cercar "encircle， surround."


我们可以大概了解：古法语把拉丁语的circ-变化为cerch-，重点是把拉丁语位于a前读的c变化为ch 。


同时，法语、意大利语、西班牙语把拉丁语的元音i变化为e 。
中古花生英语把古法语的cerch-变化为serch- 。


现代英语通常把中古英语的e变化为ea，最终就成了英语单词search 。


而英语单词circle（圆），circle（马戏团），circum-（环绕）中都直接使用拉丁语的circ- 。


认识circ-，再学习拉丁语动词circare非常简单 。
